What are Areas of Practice
The Real Estate (Dealers and Developers) Act allow various areas of practice: Sales, Rental/Leases, Auctioneering, Property Management, Appraisals (Valuations). Depending on your qualification at time of registration you may not have been granted all areas. If you would like to add additional areas to your registration/licence you will be required to do the following, depending on your preexisting qualifications
Qualifications for modification:
Graduates of Pre-licensing Dealer course prior to 2022
Complete relevant Modules of the existing Dealers course that are linked to the area(s) you would like to add and Attachment in the area as per the attachment rules oral and written examination.
Graduates of Pre-licensing Dealers course after 2022
Attachment in the areas being requested and complete the oral and written examination

Addition of Area of Practice
Once the applicant has met the necessary criteria (qualification for modification) a written request should be submitted to the Real Estate Board for consideration. The documents (request and proof of qualification) may submitted in-office or via email to info@reb.gov.jm.
A new registration certificate and licence will be generated upon completion of the verification process. Once you have been officially notified that the modification was executed, you will be required to collect your new documents at the Main Office. Please note that you must return your original licence and registration certificate in order to collect the new documents. A reprint fee of $7,000.00 may apply.
Removal of Area of Practice
A written request for the removal of an area of practice should be submitted to the Real Estate Board approval in-office or via email to info@reb.gov.jm.
A new registration certificate and licence will be generated upon completion of the verification process.
